About the Program

Student Program Staff

Danielle Fox, Student Program Coordinator
With degrees in International Development and International Relations from Clark University, Danielle has happily dedicated herself to the human rights movement.  Since her first Amnesty International student chapter meeting at the age of 15, Danielle has worked extensively in the human rights movement through her many roles with AI, focusing on membership mobilization and structure, organizational planning, and leadership training.  In addition to her work with AI, Danielle served on Idealist on Campus' Student Advisory Board, working to provide opportunities and resources for socially conscious youth. She also interned with PHR's U.S. Campaign to Ban Landmines during both high school and college.  Before returning to PHR as a staff member, Danielle worked as the Program and Development Director for Burma Border Projects, coordinating a variety of refugee assistance projects on the Thai-Burma border.  When not working for human rights, Danielle immerses herself in her artwork or enjoys a rousing game of poker or billiards.

Pete Witzler, Health Action AIDS Student Organizer
Pete is a 2002 graduate of University of Cincinnati with a degree in Environmental Studies.  Prior to joining Physicians for Human Rights, Pete worked as a Citizen Outreach Director for the State PIRGS and the Fund for Public Interest Research.  For over five years Pete worked with college students on environmental and progressive public education campaigns, trained students in how to become effective advocates, and raised millions of dollars for environmental and progressive organizations.  He also worked for MoveOn.org's national Get Out the Vote campaign during the 2004 presidential elections as the Lead Organizer in his hometown of Toledo, Ohio.  While not working on Global AIDS issues, he enjoys spending time in the outdoors hiking, sailing, fishing or any other water-sports.
