Justice and Accountability

International law demands that the perpetrators of the genocide be held accountable for their actions and that the victims receive justice. The International Criminal Court is currently investigating the crimes in Darfur and and building cases against some of the worst perpetrators. In addition, the victims of genocide have a right to receive compensation, restitution, rehabilitation and satisfaction for the losses and harms they have suffered.
