Landmines in Cambodia: The Coward's War
With Asia Watch (now Human Rights Watch/Asia)
Every year landmines kill or maim thousands of Cambodians, most of them civilians. This groundbreaking report documents how landmines have been used by successive governments and opposition forces in Cambodia over the past two decades. It also reveals the enormous impact that mines have on the health care system and social structure of Cambodia. The report was the first to recommend to the international community an outright ban on these indiscriminate weapons, thereby launching a major international campaign.
"PHR and Human Rights Watch are both to be applauded for their efforts to secure a worldwide ban on mines."
