Success Stories from the Field: Curbing the Spread of HIV/AIDS among Drug Injectors

This document presents brief descriptions of innovative and successful HIV prevention programs targeting injection drug users in Brazil, Russia, India, and a cross-border area of southern China and northern Vietnam. Research has documented the effectiveness of each program in engaging significant numbers of drug injectors in education and HIV risk reduction, and successfully reducing risky behaviors.
