First, Jane struggles with a lack of staff at Mpumudde Clinic. The clinic is staffed by one clinical officer, two nursing assistants, a lab tech and a security guard. Jane is always on call seven days per week, 24 hours per day and needs more support—including, critically, a midwife—to ensure patients get the care they come for and to augment community outreach programs that can prevent and treat disease and injury.
