Suzanne Kidenda

Suzanne Kidenda works on the Program on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zones team to help increase national capacity for the collection of court-admissible evidence of sexual violence to support prosecutions for these crimes in Kenya. She coordinates the program’s day-to-day activities in Kenya, leads in the planning and development of programmatic activities nationally, and cultivates and maintains strong relationships globally to advance the goals of the program. She also manages the advancement of mental health and psychosocial projects related to the program and provides support to advocacy and research activities in-country.

Prior to joining PHR, Kidenda worked with the Coalition on Violence against Women as a psychologist and program associate. Over the course of her career, she has aided and advocated for the rights of vulnerable populations such as children, women, refugees, intellectually challenged people, sexual- and gender-based violence survivors, victims of torture, people living with HIV/AIDS, and prisoners.

Kidenda holds a post-graduate degree in development studies from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and a BA in psychology from the United States International University in Nairobi. She is fluent in Swahili.
