Simran Sachdev, MS
Simran Sachdev spearheads PHR’s online advocacy and communication efforts.
Sachdev is a writer and activist with a passion for human rights and gender equality. She has contributed articles to various online news sources, including The Daily Beast, Women’s eNews, AlterNet, and Lipstick & Politics. She has covered topics ranging from gender issues to social movements to women in politics.
Sachdev most recently returned from living in Palestine, where she worked at a nonprofit school in the West Bank. Prior to this, she spent over two years as the operations and marketing manager at HandCrafting Justice, a fair trade organization that promotes economic empowerment for women in developing countries. Before joining the nonprofit sector, she gained over three years of experience in online marketing.
Sachdev holds an MS in global affairs, with a concentration in human rights and humanitarian assistance, and a BS in communication studies, both from New York University. Originally from India, she is conversant in Hindi and Punjabi.
