Robyn Overman, MA, SPHR

Position: Human Resources Manager, New York

A seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience in human resource (HR) management and organizational development, Robyn Overman is responsible for recruitment of staff and interns, staff training and development, total rewards, employee relations, legal compliance, and all aspects of supporting PHR’s most precious asset: its people.

Overman came to PHR from Gay Men’s Health Crisis (GMHC), where she started as the HR manager in 2000. She held positions of increasing responsibility within the HR department, being promoted to the director of HR in 2005. A native of Iowa, Overman was the first HR professional hired at the Visiting Nurse Association of Johnson County, where she established a robust HR function in the growing organization.

Overman earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) designation from the Society for Human Resources Management in 2009. She holds an MA in human resource management and organizational development. She also holds a BBA in human resources from the Tippe College of Business Administration at the University of Iowa and a BM from Cornell College.
