Shaheja Sitafalwalla, MPH
Shaheja Sitafalwalla, MPH, is a medical student at Rush Medical College in Chicago, IL. She began working with PHR in 2008 as a Student Program intern and went on to serve as the Midwest Training and Education Coordinator and as a member of the National Student Advisory Board.
Shaheja completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Religious Studies. She then went on to earn an MPH with a concentration in International Health at Boston University.
Before matriculating into medical school, Shaheja spent the summer creating and implementing a clean water and sanitation education campaign in Western Kenya. As a medical student, Shaheja also ran a mobile health clinic out of a clean-needle exchange van on the streets of Chicago, and has served on the Global Health Initiative committee at Rush University to promote global health curriculum change within her own institution.
Her hobbies include hiking, baking, and traveling.
