Donna Shelley, MD, MPH
Donna Shelley, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine and the Associate Director of Research in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Shelley is also a faculty member in the New York University Global Public Health Program. She received her MD from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, where she also completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine and she received her MPH in Health Policy and Management at Columbia University's School of Public Health.
Dr. Shelley's key areas of interest include smoking cessation in underserved populations, and health care systems changes to improve the quality of tobacco use treatment in a wide range of health care settings. Her research initiatives in this area have been funded by AHRQ, NIH, and CDC among others. She has published the results of this work in numerous peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Shelley has served on the Board of the World Rehabilitation Fund and currently is a member of the Board of the American Jewish Committee New York Chapter. She has been a member of PHR since 2006 and joined the Board of PHR in October, 2010.
