Michèle Curtis, MD, MPH, MML
Dr. Michèle Curtis is a practicing Ob/Gyn and president and CEO at CeeShell Healthcare Consulting.
Formerly, Curtis participated in the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship and worked in the office of Senator Jeff Bingaman in Washington, DC. During that time, she was actively involved in health care, maternal health, child health policies, and legislative proposals. She has continued to work at the state and national level on various issues related to health care policy, with an emphasis on women’s health.
Curtis has also served as a professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and worked at a major county hospital in Houston that serves as a training site for residents, students, and fellows. She is an accomplished public speaker and has extensive experience in medical education, clinical trials, and peer-reviewed publications.
In addition, Curtis served as a consultant associate director for Novartis and worked as vice president of medical affairs at Masimo Corporation.
Curtis holds a medical degree from the Texas Tech Regional Academic Health Science Center at Lubbock, and completed her Ob/Gyn residency at Akron General Medical Center in Ohio. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She also holds an MPH from the University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston, where she focused on health policy. She earned her MML from the University of Glasgow School of Law in Scotland with a focus on the intersection of law and medical ethics. Her thesis centered on issues around informed consent and the burgeoning growth of biobanking for research and clinical trial purposes. Curtis is currently attending law school at the University of Houston.
