Brenda Smith, CPA
Brenda E. Smith, CPA, joined PHR as Chief Operating Officer/Chief Financial Officer in October 2007. Ms. Smith has fifteen years of executive level non-profit financial manage- ment experience, having served as Chief Financial Officer for Merrimack College, Bradford College and The School for Field Studies, and as Director of Finance for Casa Myrna Vazquez.
Earlier in her career as a foreign service officer for the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Ms. Smith spent eight years abroad working in Pakistan, Bolivia, Tunisia and Sri Lanka. She earned her CPA while working for Arthur Andersen & Co. She holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Bentley College and a master's degree in Philanthropy & Media from Suffolk University.
