Kerry J. Sulkowicz, MD, a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst, is the founder and Managing Principal of the Boswell Group LLC, a
consulting firm based in New York, focusing
on the psychology of business. One of the nation’s leading corporate psychoanalysts,
Dr. Sulkowicz advises CEOs, corporate directors and other business leaders on critical aspects of managing complex organizations.

Dr. Sulkowicz specializes in assisting boards with the process of CEO succession, helping them navigate transitions to new leadership. He is an expert on senior management team and boardroom dynamics, and helps on a range of issues including high-stakes hiring assessments; a CEO's evolving leadership style; corporate culture change at the top; board/management interactions; and leadership crises. Dr. Sulkowicz is also known for his work conducting human capital research and due diligence on leaders for investors, including money managers and private equity firms.

Dr. Sulkowicz has published widely, including more than 75 columns on the human side of corporate life in BusinessWeek and Fast Company magazines. A frequent speaker and TV commentator, his article Worse than Enemies: The CEO’s Destructive Confidant appeared in the Harvard Business Review. He is a founding member of the Committee on Corporate and Organizational Consultation of the American Psychoanalytic Association, and served as Chair of the Association’s Committee on Public Information. He received the Association’s Edith Sabshin Teaching Award and the Distinguished Teacher Award at New York University School of Medicine, where he is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry. He is also an active member of the International Society for the Psychoanalytic Study of Organizations.

A Texas native and graduate of Harvard College, Dr. Sulkowicz earned his MD from the University of Texas and was a Resident and Chief Resident in psychiatry at New York University Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital. He serves on the boards of Tanager Holdings, the Appleseed Foundation, the Lucy Daniels Foundation and Physicians for Human Rights.
